Mr Woodcock Movie Review

You know when you see a teaser trailer on TV and hope that the rest of the film is as funny as that sequence, that was what I was hoping upon seeing the trailer for Mr Woodcock, in which Sean William Scott takes a rather nasty tumble off a speeding treadmill, but unfortunately that was among the only funny bits in the entire film. Billy Bob Thornton returns to the screen as Mr Woodcock, a High School PE teacher who tormented the life out of a chubby William Scott as a boy, now the boy returns a man to his home town as a literary hero, only to find that Mr Woodcock has hooked up with his widower mother, obviously William Scott isn’t best pleased and tries to split them up with a series of mildly amusing ploys. The best way I could describe this film is a bad mix of Bad Santa and Anger Management, both of which are in my opinion brilliant films, but unfortunately they have taken the worst bits of both films and mixed them to create a rather mediocre film, if your in the rental store and all the good films are out, avoid this and go home empty handed, trust me you will feel better for it in the morning.
