Wii Update 3.3 Kills Homebrew & Freeloader

Nintendo have updated the firmware available on your Wii to version 3.3, so if your Wii is connected to the internet today it will probably ask you if you want to install this update, however if you use your console for certain things, you may want to hold back on updating just yet.

Reports are flying around the internet that the new update doesn’t do anything for standard users, but only eliminates the save game exploit that was found in twilight princess by some hackers, meaning that all homebrew will be useless on the console, and apparently it has also killed Datel’s freeloader system, which allows players to play region locked games on their console, many gamers in pal territories will not be amused by this as Nintendo’s poor release schedule is stopping players getting the latest games in the west for quite some time.
