Wii: Dead Rising – More Info
Following on from the announcement we made early this week about Dead Rising coming to the Wii, comes a flurry of new information, but for purists it might not all be good.
First things first, the game won’t simply be known as Dead Rising on the Wii, but Dead Rising: Zombie Sacrifice, and the changes don’t stop there – Otis’ missions are gone completely, instead you will be able to play around 5 sub plots before getting in to the meaty main game, which will make it a lot more linear than its 360 cousin.
The camera angle you play the game from has been changed to be much more like Resident Evil 4, and because of this it has made it impossible for the developers to keep the photographic aspects of the game, so they have been dropped, which is a little surprising since the main character “Frank” is a photographer, and in the 360 game you spend the first 10 minutes of the game snapping the devastation of the town from a helicopter before finally setting down on top of the mall, that said the developers have added new weapons, new enemies and those all important waggle controls. It will be interesting to see the finished product after the excellent job they did with Resident Evil, and see what else has been added or taken from the final mix.
