What Happens In Vegas Review

Over the course of the weekend we headed to our local cinema to catch a film, the pickings were on the slim side, and after much deliberation (my wife wanting to see one film, and me refusing and wanting to watch something else) we came to a happy medium of “What happens in Vegas”.

What Happens in Vegas follows the lives of Jack ( a guy who works for his dad, and really isn’t ready for life or a relationship) and Joy ( a woman who has just been dumped by her boyfriend, and is really uptight) both separately make the decision to head to Vegas to try and have a good time with there best friend, and in true Hollywood fashion they meet up during the weekend. After many many drinks, Jack and Joy wake up the following morning to find themselves married, both actually agree that it was a mistake and decide to get the marriage annulled when they get back home, however Joy leaves a quarter on top of a slot machine, and Jack puts it in the machine winning $3m USD, which really complicates matters.

Once back home the judge decides that he has seen enough stupid divorces recently and makes an example of the pair, making them live together for six months, and see a marriage councillor. The story evolves from there with both characters using all means available to them to try and get the other one to make a mistake thus forfeiting the $3m.

If your in the mood for an in depth movie, give this one a miss, but if your up for something a little lighter which will really get you laughing, you really should give this film a go. Ashton Kutcher is brilliant in the movie as is his co star Cameron Diaz, and the scene where she chases him down the street pelting him with oranges is legendary – a must see for comedy fans.
