Midway have today released details that they are making a Nintendo DS port of the popular 1994 point and click adventure Myst, first released on PC, followed up by the PS1, the game won many devout followers around the world, making the sequels massively popular. Midway is making the game from the ground up, so expect full optimisation of the dual screens and of course the stylus, I bought the game back in the day for the PS1, and at the time the graphics were trully stunning, you had to solve puzzles, and teleport through strange books in the library etc, personally it wasn’t my cup of tea, but I know a lot of people really got into it, and will be excited by this announcement from Midway. More details as we get them!

The DS development of the original game will embrace many of the hardware features only available on this format. Control elements like the touch screen will allow players to interact on a level that’s never been possible before” - Midway

There are no instructions and the player begins a voyage of exploration without encountering a single living soul. Alone on a mysterious island, you set out to explore its grandeur and mystery. Here a chilling tale of intrigue and injustice, defying all boundaries of space and time, is being told. Quickly, though, it becomes clear every action can somehow help unfortunate individuals trapped somewhere in a parallel dimension. The Myst adventure is like no other, tantalizing with its unique combination of lavish environments, puzzles, mazes, and a sizzling underlying drama which steadily unfolds to reward the player further still.” - Midway
