Heroes S02E01 (Season 2 Episode 1)

Heroes returned to TV this week, and I for one was a little sceptical as to what route the show would go down after the season one finale, which saw Peter Petrelli and his brother fly off into the sky and go nuclear, but I’m glad to say that the writers have done a fantastic job and have managed to create a season 2 opener worthy of the Heroes name.

*Caution Please note to ensure your viewing pleasure spoilers may be included in the text below*

Heroes S02E01 (Season 2 Episode 1) is titled “Four Months Later”, and begins with a brief look at what happened toward the end of season 1, Claire (the cheerleader) and her family have relocated somewhere new, and are trying to live a normal life, although both herself and her father are finding it hard to adapt to “normal” life, toward the end of the episode Claire’s father gets contacted by Mohinder who is trying to infiltrate the organisation that claire’s father once worked for, with his help.

Matt Parkman (the policeman who can hear thoughts) is looking after the little girl (Molly) from the previous series (the one he first rescued from the house where her father was killed and afterward from the building in which Mohinder was treating her) though she has started to have terrible nightmares about the unknown “Boogey Man”

Hiro Nakamura teleported to the past at the end of the last show, sometime in Feudal Japan, whilst there he comes across his hero - Takezo Kensei, but unfortunately for Hiro his hero is quite the opposite, and is in fact an Englishman, in typical Hiro style he makes a mistake and inadvertently prevents a fight between Kensei and a group of bandits effectively changing the future.

Both Hiro’s father and Nathan Petrelli’s mother receive death threats from an as yet unknown assailant, and at the end of the episode Hiro’s father is pushed over a ledge by a hooded man, whom he knew.

Finally we also got to meet three new characters for the future, the first two are brother and sister, and are South American (Maya & Alejandro) they are on the run from the police, for what the wanted posters describe as murder, they try to get passage to the US via some smugglers, but the smugglers get nasty and demand that Alejandro’s pretty sister sits up front of the truck they are driving, after a fight Alejandro is left at the side of the road, whilst Maya is bundled into the front of the truck….not long down the road the truck stops, and Alejandro catches up with the vehicle, only to find everyone inside the truck dead, with blood coming out of their eyes, everyone that is apart from Maya.

The final character is a young boy who is at school with Claire, he takes an instant shine to her, after almost knocking her down in the morning, catching her trying to burn her hands on a bunsen burner, and almost witnessing her unique regenerative abilities, toward the end of the episode he is seen outside Claire’s window, but as the camera pans back you can see him floating high above the ground.

The final scene of the show is set in Ireland (Cork to be exact), some petty thieves have received a tip that a container at the docks contains Ipod’s and other high end electrical devices worth stealing, they find the container in question, break it open and to their surprise the container is empty, apart from in the corner their is a chained man, one of the thieves gets violent frustrated by the lack of stolen goods, and tries to hit the man, who merely raises his hand and throws him across the container floor, the chained man is Peter Petrelli, but he seems to have lost his memory……..

I cant wait for next week to see the next installment
