Dollhouse is the latest project from Angel and Buffy creator Joss Whedon, and will feature not only Eliza Dushku (who played faith in the TV series) but also Amy Acker (who played Fred and Illyria in Angel). The Dollhouse is a secret organisation that has “Actives” - operatives who can have their mind and personality wiped and re-programmed with new ones allowing them to be assassins, or whatever else the client wants as long as they have the money.

When the Actives receive their new memory imprints the data includes muscle memory, allowing them to complete complex tasks they were unable to do before, and they have handlers who monitor the missions both internally and remotely. After the Active’s mission is completed they will feel an instinctive desire to return to the Dollhouse where their memory will be wiped, imprints last for ten hours, any longer and the imprint gets “strained”, apparently when the story unfolds we will find out that the Actives in the dollhouse are volunteers, who will work for five years and then retire with a massive sum of money, and absolutely no memory of what they have done.
