Bioshock Review

The first thing you will notice about Bioshock when you play it is its sheer beauty, every inch of “Rapture” is beautifully created, and looks like it has come straight out of a 1950’s novel, the lit areas show you witty advertisements and even hints (whilst trying to achieve a particular goal early on in the game, you will see an advertisement for the dental area on a wall which is giving away free Plasmids, which is very helpful if you’re a bit stuck) whereas the dark areas fill you with terror as to what you may find there. your character survives a mid atlantic plane crash, and whilst you sit in the sea bobbing around surrounded by fire, you notice a small gap in the distance, and swim toward it, noticing a lighthouse in the distance. Inside you take a bathysphere underwater and reach the madhouse that is “Rapture” your so called utopia for the duration of “Bioshock”. In the first level of the game you get a nice amount of hinted guidance, as you take part in a would be tutorial of sorts, learning about the inhabitents, plot, weapons and the all important combat techniques that vary so much from an ordinary first person shooter.
