World Of Warcraft Movie – Latest Details

At the recent Blizzard Entertainment convention, reps from Blizzard teamed up with their counterparts from legendary pictures (the company behind such hits as Batman Begins, Superman Returns Lady in the Water and 300), to answer a whole host of questions on the new WOW movie.

Firstly the movie has been confirmed as a live action movie, much like the recent transformers one, just how much of the film will be CG is anyones guess, but it will be hard to recreate a lot of the game without it.
No director has been confirmed as yet, although they are looking at Zak Snyder (300), or Chris Nolan (Batman Begins), and obviously no director means no cast as yet, We will have to let you know when we find out.

The team are still working towards a 2009 release date, and are confident they can attain that, although they are still in the script writting phase of the film, few details were leaked, except that the film’s story will be set about one year before the WOW game, and that it will be filmed from the perspective of the Alliance, which wont please the Horde alligned players.

Throughout the conference all the panel were keen to show that they didnt want to film just another game movie, but an epic pointing at the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and Braveheart as examples of what they want to attain – with the size of the game you could make it a 9hr trilogy ala LOTR

More WOW details as and when, only downside I can see to the film is that no one will watch it – the man on the street wont know what it is, wheras the people who play it wont be able to drag themselves away from their computers long enough to see the film.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue – Details

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is coming along nicely, and latest details coming from camp Polyphony Digital are as such:

• The game will feature a professional mode
• It will run in glorious 1080p resolution
• 40 cars
• 4 courses
• 8 layouts (immplying reverse courses)
• downloadable content from Playstation network (cars and tracks)
• Any money won in GT5P can be transferred to the full game when it is released
