Review: Batman Begins

OK I admit it, I’m a little late to the party, but hey better late than never, I thought I had better watch Batman Begins before I headed to the cinema to watch “The Dark Knight”, and I figured some of you might be in a similar situation, so here is a handy little review of Batman Begins *SPOILERS WITHIN*.
The film starts with our lead man (Bale) in a Chinese prison, fighting criminals to try to ease the pain of his mother and father’s death, a strange man (Liam Neeson) comes to the prison and challenges him to become something better by picking a strange blue flower and climbing a mountain, which he obviously does, when he reaches the top Neeson is there and sets about teaching him various ninja skills along with breaking his fears with the use of the blue flower in powder form (a hallucinogenic), once Bale is fully trained the men invite him to become part of their group (the league of shadows) but the initiation price is too high (to execute a murderer) so he turns on the group and kills everyone, except for Neeson whom he rescues and takes back down the mountain to safety, soon after Alfred (Michael Caine) turns up with a private jet and takes the newly focused Bale back to Gotham city.
Once back in Gotham city Bale starts to rebuild his empire after a seven year absence and uses some of his company’s black ops products to stock up his Bat cave, such as his Kevlar style bat suit and the new bat mobile. Batman starts to take on the bad guys, vowing to clean up Gotham but Neeson returns intent on cleansing Gotham by making all its inhabitants crazy with an airborne version of the blue flowers.
The story is dark and awesome and really puts maximum effort into explaining how we got Batman in the first place, and why he is what he is, even though the story is two hours plus, it flies by with the pace of a short movie, and you will be engrossed from start to finish! Bale, Neeson, Freeman, Cillian Murphy, Caine and Oldman all shine brightly and make the film as fantastic as it is.
