PSP Blu Ray?

Despite a lack of official announcement from any of the divisions of Sony Computer Entertainment, PC World is reporting that the Playstaion 3′s next firmware (2.20) release will contain something a little special called “Portable Copy” .

Portable copy is essentially a piece of software that will allow you to place a Blu Ray movie into the PS3 and it will copy the film allowing you to download a standard resolution version to its portable brother, this will be an amazing little addition and will mean you no longer have to buy two versions of the same film to be able to watch on the small and large screen, only weird thing is surely that will mean the end of UMD films? I know Sony own Blu Ray but they spent so much money trying to advertise the format.
