Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest For Sony PSP

As the Pirates of the Caribbean : The Dead Man’s Chest is breaking records in the movie theatres across the globe there is an unnoticed release of this popular movie into the gaming arena. Buena Vista introduces Pirates of The Caribbean: The Dead Man’s Chest into the PSP arena and lets the world carry the spirits of Captain Jack Sparrow into their backpacks. Expansions in the original movie story without making striking change in the overall plot; a lot of extensive swordfights, accompanying the quest of Jack Spirit to beat the evil Davy Jones and Kraken – all fails to meet up with the highly anticipated expectations as there are overall disappointment in almost every aspect of the game.
The Story Unfolds:
In the game you play as Captain Jack Sparrow himself and the main storyline of the game is effectively adopted from the movie itself. The game concentrates solely on the character of the famous character from the movie and you’ll have to control and have pleasure accompanying the captain in all the adventures he’s out to conquer. There are brief storyline which will help you reckon the primary objectives of the game and as the game progresses you will experience slight aberration from the original story but that is all to help the game go fluently in a sole attempt to make the game play more smoother and synchronized. Before the fights there will be brief narration to each scenario and you might find yourself amidst the real quests of the pirates and in a brief spell of magic – you find yourself as the Captain himself leading the situation by him.
The Game is ON:
The game uses the voice of another sound-alike Johnny Depp and had a magnificent impact in the game. The performance was highly enthusiastic and sometimes the enthusiasm even amassed more spirit than the real performance of the movie star. However the game is exclusively pertinent to the movie from start to end and if one hasn’t seen the real movie might even be confused at times. The sound effects of the clinging of the swords, the commotions and the background music all will be of mesmerizing effect and is done in immaculate precision. However the good being said – this game had its endless limitations as well.
Although the regular sword fighting was not the sole challenge to face in the game – you the gamers were occasionally tested with puzzles practically straightforward and often the explosions and fire would just show some dodgy stock videos. The control over the character wasn’t too overwhelmingly accurate resulting in bad control deaths more frequent and the penalty wasn’t too harsh either – simply taking you at some point previous in the level. The game play was often very monotonous without proper link backs and the later stage where the Kraken was to be beaten – the gamers are probably to choke in boredom and discontinue playing the game right away because of the weak and irritating structure of the sequence. However it’s the multiplayer naval wars that adds this game to the interest of the general gamers and is full of fun and feature packed action.
So Finally:
Pros:
v Good relevancy with the original movie
v The voice of Captain Jack Sparrow is often enthusiastic reminiscing the spirit of the original movie
v The multiplayer naval wars
Cons:
v The control isn’t too precise for cutting edge performance of the gamer
v The sword Fighting is often repetitive
v The sequence of the structure towards the end of the game isn’t too canny
v The video playback often irritates with the stock videos
Final Verdict:
The overall impression of the Dead Man’s Chest is targeted towards the dedicated fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean, as the game complies pretty well with the original movie. It is however limitation in certain aspects which makes this game plain average in the eyes of the normal gamer.
