Over The Rainbow
Andrew Lloyd Webber returned to our television screens over the weekend with his latest talent search, this time to recruit a Dorothy for the Wizard of Oz theatre show, the format hasn’t changed much (if at all) from the previous iterations so it should be pretty familiar for viewers who watched his search for Nancy, Joseph and Maria.
In tonight’s episode the panel of experts; Charlotte Church, John Partridge, Sheila Hancock and the Lord himself finally whittled the Dorothy’s down to just 10 from 20 potentials with the remaining girls fighting it out for the viewer vote to be gifted a wildcard position, oddly we won’t find out who this will be till next week but the confirmed girls put through to the completion are:
Amy diamond
Bronte Barbe
Dani Rayner
Danielle Hope
Jenny Douglas
Jessica Robinson
Lauren Samuels
Sophie Evans
Steph Fearon
Stephanie Davis
The strangest part for me will be the search for Toto, if it is approached in the same silly way that the kids part was recruited for in the Nancy shows then it will be a complete turn off, the little bits with the kids seemed rushed and felt like they were stuck in as an afterthought, to be honest I don’t really care what the dog looks like, if anything (and I’m sure I’m not alone) I would like him to be a little black dog like in the Judy Garland film, but hey that’s me.
