New Xbox 360 Revealed

Microsoft today released details of its latest Xbox 360 console, the new slimmer version will be direct competition for the PS3 slim, and features a host of new features including built in Wi-Fi.

Form Factor – sleek lean and gloss black finish with chrome accents; place horizontally or vertically in any living room entertainment centre.
Touch Sensitive Buttons – Turn the Xbox 360 on/off  or eject  a disc with the swipe of a finger
Whisper quiet – whether your playing a DVD disc or from the hard drive, with the all new 360 all you will hear is your own laughter, cheering and playing
Wi-Fi – Built in 802.11n Wi-Fi
Hard Drive – larger 250gb HD as standard
Kinect Ready – dedicated port to connect the kinect device (formally known as Natal)
USB slots – 3 rear, 2 front
AV cons – HDMI, AV and optical audio
Power supply – smaller and more efficient *not interchangeable with the original PSU
Controller – the same 360 pad we all love with a chrome effect, gloss paint and black analog sticks
Compatibility – all existing add ons except the original HDD and memory cards will work with the new console.
Key changes:

• Fan – changed from 2 small fans to one large one for improving cooling and acoustics

• Chipset – 45nm CPU and integrated CPU and GPU

• Wi-Fi – Integrated wireless

The new Xbox 360 is apparently shipping to stores at the end of the week at a retail price of $299 USD, details to follow for Europe.
