Music & Lyrics

Music and Lyrics stars two of my favourite actors, Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant. The movie revolves around Hugh Grant’s character Alex Fletcher as he try’s to resurrect his 80’s pop star career. He is asked to write a new song, a duet to perform with one of the hottest young stars of the moment ‘Cora Corman’ (she’s a blatant Shakira spoof) but the only problem is that she wants the song by the end of the week.Alex is not a natural song writer and struggles with the task at hand until Sophie Fisher (Drew Barrymore) the woman who waters the plants in his apartment reveals her hidden talent as a brilliant lyricist.

The two end up spending every waking moment together over the next few days, writing what they hope will be the hit song that saves Alex career and eventually begin to fall for eachother, but they are both so different can it ever really work out?..

I loved Music and Lyrics; it had me completely hooked right from the cheesy 80’s music style video at the start. The film reminded me a lot of ‘The wedding singer’ another great feel good movie.
Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore worked really well together and had a great chemistry that made the film really fun to watch, there are plenty of laugh out loud moments as Hugh Grant does what he does best and totally hams it up for the camera.

Music & Lyrics is a fantastic feel good comedy that really is worth a watch. Recommended as one of Enchanted Entertainment’s ‘Top Picks’.
