Kingdom Hearts 2 review
![]()
Kingdom Hearts II is a brilliant RPG designed by Square Enix in collaboration with Disney, and amazingly contains characters from both Square’s Final Fantasy series, and pretty much all of Disney’s cartoon movies to date, this sounds quite strange at first but as you start to get into the game, you realise what an inspired concept it really is.
The original Kingdom Hearts game was a huge success for Square Enix and Disney, so an update to the franchise was inevitable and welcomed by not only gamers but also Final Fantasy and Disney fans too. The second game starts off introducing us to a character named Roxas a young boy living in “Twilight Town”, enjoying his summer vacation with his friends, however as the game continues strange things start happening to Roxas, with him remembering things that have never happened to him, and strange characters appearing who no one else can see, eventually after working your way through some of the game you realise the truth about Roxas and his connection with Sora the character from the first game, soon after this in my opinion the game really starts off, with you playing as Sora alongside your first game sidekicks Donald and Goofy, and you start to search for your old friends Riku and Kairi as well as “King Mickey” throughout many different Disney inspired worlds, with your trusty Keyblade in hand.
The game has upwards of forty hours of game play, and not only features the standard game, but also many mini games to keep you interested as well as a return from the first game of the Gummi ship. Kingdom Hearts II is a graphically stunning game, and features the voice talents of Disney’s own actors to make the experience even more fulfilling, along with a new camera layout (which annoyed many people in the previous game)
All in all I really loved playing this game and would heartily recommend it to anyone, you don’t have to be a Final Fantasy fan or a Disney fan to enjoy this excellent game, but if you are its all the better!!
