Geordie Joe McElderry has finally taken the crown on Itv’s X Factor.

Joe fought off strong competition from Olly Murs, who really put in a strong final performance but ultimately was bested by the bookies face Joe.

The winners song is available to buy in stores from Wednesday, but many are trying to scupper Simon cowells plans for an Xmas number one by planning a mass purchase of Rage Against The Machines “Killing In The Name” only time will tell who will get to the top of the Christmas charts.
