Iron Man Review
The Iron Man is probably one of the least well known of Marvel’s comic book super hero’s but all that is set to change with the motion picture release of Iron Man, but does the film hit the nail on the head or merely miss the target altogether?
Happily Jon Favreau (the movies director) has done a brilliant job of bringing the comic book hero to life, telling a much more absorbing tale of how John Stark a very, very rich man, chooses to defeat evil, without all the stupid emotional baggage and love lives that hold back films like Spiderman, making the film brilliant and unmissable.
Stark awakes in an Afghan prison, dealt with the task of building the bad guys a missile, but not to be fazed by his task, he teams up with his new found friend “Yinsen” and together they build an armoured suit to escape the prison. The film evolves quickly from this point, really getting behind the excitement of Starks character as he takes on evil doers.
Downey Jnr and Paltrow really steal the show with Paltrow really putting in a great performance as Starks PA – Pepper Potts, and when the standard love interest part arrives its more believable than the Toby Mcguire and Kirsten Dunst storyline in Spiderman.
Overall – if you are a lover of high octane action, with a heady mixture of fun and comedy Iron Man is the film for you.
