Gordon Ramsay’s FAST FOOD
Recipes from The F Word
Published by Quadrille with Photography by Jill Mead
Strictly embargoed until April 30th 2007
GORDON RAMSAY’S FAST FOOD will be published by Quadrille on 4th May 2007 (£19.99) revealing the celebrated chef’s guide to cooking simple, fast and delicious food with recipes taken from the third Channel 4 series of The F Word.
FAST FOOD is Gordon Ramsay’s eighth cookbook and follows the success of Gordon Ramsay’s Sunday Lunch (published by Quadrille, May 2006, £19.99). With his unique style, high voltage energy and passion for good food, Gordon shows readers how to prepare great tasting, real fast food in less time than it would take to have a take away delivered. FAST FOOD features photography by Jill Mead and takes its cue from the latest series of Channel 4’s hit food show, The F Word. FAST FOOD shows Gordon at his most compelling as he creates outstanding dishes which are not only fast but fresher and healthier than ever before.
Research reveals a worrying increasing dependence on so-called ‘convenience foods’, which whilst competitively priced, are often packed with low quality ingredients, lacking both nutrients and flavour. In FAST FOOD, Gordon rejects the notion that the nature of today’s fast paced lifestyle should prevent us from being able to prepare quick and nutritious home cooked meals.
FAST FOOD offers five easy dishes under fifteen different headings ranging from fast starters and antipasti to working lunches, side dishes and fruity desserts. The book also features fifteen menus for weekday meals and entertaining such as cheap and cheerful weekday suppers, Italian and Spanish evenings and even a fast drinks party. Confident and first-time home cooks alike will be able to create mouth watering dishes such as pea and mint soup with parma ham, sausage and beans, rice noodle and smoked mackerel salad and mango fool in no time at all.
Glasgow-born Ramsay remains arguably Britain’s most celebrated chef and restaurateur. His superb cooking has earned him three Michelin stars at his eponymous restaurant, Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road – the highest accolade currently awarded to any restaurant in London. Together Gordon’s restaurants share a total of ten Michelin stars. In November 2006 Gordon opened his first restaurant in the United States and this year sees an exciting venture away from fine dining with the launch of two classic London pubs. His best-selling cookbooks: A Chef for All Seasons; Gordon Ramsay’s Just Desserts; Gordon Ramsay’s Secrets; Gordon Ramsay Makes it Easy and Gordon Ramsay’s Sunday Lunch, have to date sold over 1.3 million copies worldwide.
FAST FOOD is a cookbook for the way we live today and one which demonstrates we do not necessarily need to rely on take away and ready made convenience foods when pushed for time.
