The Iron Man Is Finally On His Way

Back in the early 90’s Universal pictures bought the rights to make a big screen version of Marvel’s comic book “Iron Man”, but by 1996 the project was going nowhere and Twentieth Century Fox acquired the rights and also the interest of some high flying Hollywood heroes, namely Nicholas Cage, and Tom Cruise. Quentin Tarantino was also approached with a view to him directing the film but again nothing came of it, by which time many fans of the series were beginning to lose hope.

New Line Cinema purchased the rights from Twentieth Century Fox but after two years of unsuccessful development they finally returned the film to its rightful owners “Marvel” now finally some eighteen years after the project was first thought up we will finally get to see Iron man.

The latest incarnation of the film is being directed by John Favreau, and an early trailer put up at Comic Con really wowed fans.

The movie version of Iron Man is about a weapons designer called “Tony Stark” who is in Afghanistan to introduce his latest missile design to the US army, however the convoy he is in gets attacked and he gets taken prison, with the captors demanding he make his missile for them. Stark is locked away in a dungeon but is given a workshop to create his missile, but little do his captors know, he is making a bulletproof suit, complete with flamethrowers etc. Once he escapes his captors he returns home, and develops his Iron Man armour into the red & gold scheme shown above, with advance weapons and the ability to fly.
