Knocked Up Review. Includes Images Vids and the Best Funny Quotes!

Knocked up is being hailed as one of this years best comedy movies and here at Damn That’s Awesome we can definitely see why! Read our review and our thoughts on the best bits of the film. Don’t forget there may be Spoilers ahead!!

Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) is a nice guy who is slowly wasting his life away by spending all his time getting high with his friends and working on a website that is destined to fail. He goes to a club and meets Alison (Katherine Heigl) a beautiful, successful TV presenter and begins to think his luck may have changed. After much drinking the pair spend the night together and end up going their separate ways but eight weeks later Alison phones Ben and gives him some news that will send his life spiralling out of control. She’s pregnant… and it’s his.

Despite the way this film has been advertised it is not just your average comedy, the surprising amount of emotional depth to it combined with some witty and clever humour makes for a truly winning formula. From the director of ’40 Year Old Virgin’ this is comedy at its finest.

I have been a fan of Katherine Heigl since becoming addicted to the show ‘Greys Anatomy’ in which she plays Izzy. Heigl does not disappoint in Knocked Up and has proved the critics who put her down wrong beyond belief. Her comic timing is spot on and her acting is brilliant. The scene in which she gives birth is not only bloody hilarious but also surprisingly realistic! (Trust me, I’ve been there!)

If you are looking for a date movie, this would be perfect. It’s one of those films that you can just sit there, laugh at and enjoy and both you and your girlfriend will be entertained for different reasons. Girls will love the sweet nature of the film that really is the key to its foundations; Ben and Alison have a great chemistry and realism about them that really makes you care about what happens in the storyline and want the best for them. Alison’s sister and her husband also have a relationship that dares to portray real life and truth whilst still managing to be amusing. Let’s not forget that it also has some genuinely hilarious moments. The scene in which Pete (Paul Rudd) and Ben go to watch cirque du soleil whilst completely high is comedy genius and some of the witty comments exchanged through the movie are truly classic.
