Joss Whedon’s Horror Flick

July 8, 2008

Joss Whedon the father of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel hasn’t made a movie since Serenity hit the screens over three years ago, but now he is back with a horror called “Cabin in the Woods”.

Joss has had many projects in the development cycle, such as Wonder Woman and Goners, but unfortunately each one has been put on the back burner, but his latest project “Cabin in the Woods” (which reunites Joss with Cloverfield writer Drew Goddard) looks like it will get the go ahead.

“There’s a reason the title is so straightforward, It’s its own sub-genre, the cabin in the woods, and this is sort of our take on it. It’s fresh and new. It’s genius, it’s funny,It’s got a harder and darker edge, but it’s also got classic Whedon qualities. It’ll rip your heart out and be heartfelt at the same time.” - Goddard

It looks like the movie will be directed by Goddard, but has been co-written with Joss Whedon, who will be busy with his new TV show Dollhouse details are a little thin on the ground at the moment, but lets hope it takes some cues from other great horrors with cabins in, such as Evil Dead and Wrong Turn (kinda in a cabin), more info as and when!.
