FIB Heineken festival, Benicássim 2009

Babyshambles front man and bona fide musician, Peter Doherty will grace the Benicássim stage this summer. Armed with his quintessential English charm and an acoustic guitar, the ex Libertine will perform tracks from his first solo album ‘Grace/Wastelands’ to delight the sun worshipping crowd in Spain.

Having already confirmed Oasis, Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Paul Weller, Lily Allen, Glasvegas, The Mystery Jets, Elbow, Maximo Park, 2 Many DJs, Foals and The Horrors, few would disagree that FIB Heineken is now one of the best festivals of 2009! But with only 500 four day tickets (without camping) remaining, time is running out for any festival goers who want to see what many are now calling ‘the line up of a lifetime’.

Also recently confirmed to play are British quartet Gang of Four. After their outstanding debut album ‘Entertainment’ in 1979, which many critics hailed as ‘the album of the decade’, the lads from Leeds are now experiencing a second youth, having promised a stellar performance from their original line up.

FIB Heineken are also proud to announce the launch of Fiber Radio – their very own online radio station. Teaming up with www.musicvictim.com, Fiber Radio is tailor made to the festival’s line up and will broadcast uninterrupted, round the clock, music from all the artists performing at Benicássim.

A phenomenal 50,000 people per day enjoyed FIB Heineken 2008 in the gorgeous Spanish sun and early indications suggest that this year (which sees the festival celebrating its 15th birthday), will be the best yet. Backed by the man behind The Hop Farm Festival and founder of the Mean Fiddler, Vince Power, it will take place from July 16th – 19th on the east coast of Spain.
