Jordan Lookalike Quits After Accident

Britain’s top Jordan lookalike has had to quit after a freak cooking incident damaged her eyesight permanently.

Alison Murphy was cooking breakfast for her family in the microwave when a batch of eggs which were boiling in water and vinegar exploded, hitting the mum of two directly in the eyes. Her husband rushed her to hospital in a great deal of pain, but the damage was severe and she was blind for over a week.

Luckily for the Barnsley mum specialists at the hospital were able to restore the sight in her right eye by removing fragments of yolk and egg from behind the eye, but unfortunately her left eye was burned and badly scarred meaning that she will have to wear glasses for the rest of her life.

Alison was mistaken for the model in Ascot 2002, and spent the next six years on the celebrity circuit as a Jordan lookalike.

“I’m going to miss all the personal appearances and photo shoots up and down the country, but my confidence was shot to pieces by the accident, and I won’t be going back to work after what’s happened, The specialists had to prise open my eyes very carefully, and then extricate all the bits of white egg from everywhere, my left eye is still a problem though – sometimes it’s bloodshot and my vision’s blurred, and I’ve got to wear glasses if I want to watch TV or read, I’ve been through six months of treatment, but the doctors say they can’t do any more for me now, so I’ve just got to accept things, and get on with my life.” - Alison Murphy
