Del Torro: Frankenstein – Yes Please

Guillermo Del Torro is a master of creating the weird and wonderful, all the more fitting that he has apparently signed up to do remakes of Frankenstein and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Del Torro has been waiting all of his professional life to remake the classic stories with his own twist, and in a recent interview with Slice of Sci Fi he had this to say:

“To me, Frankenstein represents the essential human question: ‘Why did my creator throw me here, unprotected, unguided, unaided and lost?’ ,With that one, they will have to pry it from my cold dead hands to prevent me from directing it.”

Probably the biggest opposition to these classic movies will be fans of the original books, but we will soon see how well he handles an adaptation with The Hobbit which he is currently making.
