Bond is back, but has it been worth the wait? Or is it time Bond hanged up his Zimmer frame and went into retirement?

I sat down to watch the latest Bond movie, and was a little apprehensive to put it mildly as my previous encounters with the films has been Christmas times sat around watching the old ones, been bored to tear, just waiting for the silly bit at the end where Bond beds the girl in some elaborate and stupid manner.

Firstly lets start with Bond himself, Daniel Craig is not a good bond, in my opinion he is a weak actor, and isn’t classy enough to play the master of charm himself, he does a good job, but there is just something missing from his performance, and from hearing reports back from female friends, he isn’t even that sexually attractive.

The film: the film starts off with a fast paced chase around a building site with Bond trying to catch a bomber to ask him some questions, its truly an amazing scene, and I defy anyone not to be on the edge of their seats, but unfortunately after that the film goes downhill somewhat, slipping into the mundane with little story to back up the high octane action at the start, albeit with the occasional scene which is cool i.e. when he flips the Aston martin to not run over his female lead, and when they bring the house down literally in Venice.

Overall if you’re a Bond fan, your probably going to enjoy this adventure as it brings the franchise more into the future than previous offerings, but for me a non bond fan it wasn’t enough, and the story wasn’t strong enough to hold my attention without being bored.
