T is for Trespass Review

April 21, 2008

T for Trespass is the latest novel from Sue Grafton in her popular Kinsey Millhone series of “alphabet” stories i.e. “P” is for Peril etc, but fans of the series may feel a little let down by her latest offering.

T for Trespass is a typical Grafton mystery but fails to live up to its predecessors with a weak story that fails to grab the reader in any way, except to give them the necessity to finish the book and conclude the torture that it is.

Many of my friends are big Grafton fans, but even they have been hard pressed to praise this book. The main feeling I got from the book was that the main characters Millhone, Henry and Rosie are all lacking that something that makes you want to read further and find out what happens to them, and in a book that is devoid of any great point it is a real chore to read it from cover to cover, The only way anyone will finish this title is if they are a fan and want to see what happens to the characters already established from a previous title, or if you buy it from a train station or airport book store and have nothing else to read.

Rating: ★★☆☆☆

A real shame and a let down in the series, lets hope her next one isnt “A” for abysmal like this one.
