Bones
One of the best shows on TV at the moment in our opinion has to be ‘Bones’ from creator Hart Hanson. The show stars Emily Deschanel as a highly skilled but socially inept Forensic Anthropologist ‘Dr Temperance Brennan’ and David Boreanaz as Seeley Booth, a special investigations agent of the FBI’s homicide unit. The two are paired together to work on various different cases, with Brennan and her team of co workers at The Jeffersonian Institute handling the remains of victims and piecing together the evidence whilst Booth takes on the questioning and general running of the case.
Bones is now in its second season, and the episodes just keep getting better and
better. The relationship between Booth and Brennan bears some similarity to that of agents ‘Mulder’ and ‘Scully’ in the X Files, with the closeness that continues to develop between the pair becoming more evident with every storyline.
In a recent interview with creator Hart Hanson he has played up to speculation that Brennan and Booth will eventually get together by saying that he and the writers will keep them apart for as long as they possibly can to keep that chemistry alive, adding that ‘will they, wont they’ element to each case. Rumour also has it that David Duchovny (X Files) is a big fan of the show and may possibly be directing an episode in the not too distant future. Something for us X Files fans to look forward to if its true!
Another great storyline development is the ever blossoming relationship between Brennan’s co workers Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (TJ Thyne). It will be interesting to see where this leads in future episodes and how the whole thing develops.
Brennan’s former grad student and assistant Zack Addy (Eric Millegan) has undergone a bit of a transformation this series and is now a Dr with a great new image. This was cleverly added into the storyline when we witness Zach not being able to be taken seriously due to his scruffy appearance and after a brief makeover by Angela he emerges with a great new clean cut look and is really starting to stand his own as a strong character in the show.
Some stand out episodes in Bones so far in season 2 for us at Enchanted Entertainment have been:-
The Blonde in the Game – Serial Killer Howard Epps taunts Booth and Brennan from behind bars forcing them to play his deadly game.
Aliens in a Spaceship – Easily the best episode of the season so far! Bones and Hodgins awake to find themselves buried alive in a car. With the air supply running out fast they must rely on their friends to find them before it’s too late!
The Headless Witch in the Woods – Blair Witch style episode that is actually pretty scary! A headless body is found in the woods, could it be a victim of the legendary Witch of the woods or something far more disturbing.
