Tied for first place were David Flook of Ontario, Canada, and James Silva of New York with their respective games: “Blazing Birds,” an action-packed, robotic sports game modeled after the game of badminton, and “The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai,” a highly stylized game of mayhem and revenge. Prototype is a new “open world” game from Radical Entertainment / Sierra, the makers of Scarface: The World Is Yours, and from the look of the game at this early stage it makes Scarface look like nintendogs.

In the game you play Alex Mercer, a genetically engineered anti-hero, with monsterous powers, who is wandering around Manhattan with a touch of amnesia, worse still a deadly mutating virus is doing the rounds turning the populace of New York into blood thirsty killers, the Army is out in force and control various “safe” sectors of the city, as the rabid horde control others. Sensible World Of Soccer, Analysis and Video

August 8, 2007

It’s back!! possibly the world best footy game “Sensible Soccer” is coming to Xbox Live Arcade, I had pretty much every version of this game back in the old days *showing my age now* on the Amiga 500, 600 and A1200. Sensible soccer proved over the millions of other prettier games that game-play is king, the graphics were basic with little stick-men playing the game, and repetitive crowd noise churning out of the Amiga’s sound card, and the controls followed on from the graphics in their simplicity, with only one key on the keyboard or button on a joy-pad being used to kick the football around, non of this hold A, press right and flick the bumper button to do a swerving shot at goal, just press the button and hold the direction of serve, and that’s why it is such a legendary game to this day. Wii Boogie More Screenies

August 8, 2007

Here is a set of new screen-shots from the upcoming singing/dancing extravaganza that is Wii Boogie, the game is still pencilled in for its August 31st release date, but the coolest thing about these screen-shots? one of them to the naked eye is all blurred with the red and blue out of phase with the rest of the picture (like when a newspaper is printed badly) and if you look closely in the bottom corner is a picture of some 3D glasses, does this mean Wii Boogie will be in 3D? time will tell, lets hope that this innovation works out better for them than the virtual boy.

Wii Portable In Development?

August 7, 2007

Nintendo have recently filed patents, protecting new technology which hints towards the Japanese console giant making a portable version of its Wii, the patent clearly shows a control system similar to that of the wii-mote, and drawings on the patent application show what appears to be a line drawing of a gameboy. The patent was first filed in march, but was updated only a few days ago.

In an ideal world theyre would be a portable wii, more likely in my opinion is some sort of modification for its highly popular Dual Screen console – one already exists for the console on the black market, but only works with homebrew games, lets hope for a motion sensing DS sometime soon.
